The Yggdrasil Report

These dreams won't stop. I swear, they just get more vivid and disturbing by the day. I talked to the counselor here at work and he was very helpful. Still, they just won't go away. I haven't had much sleep lately because of them.

In other news, Mr. Heimdall and everyone finally returned today. Mr. Heimdall brought a spear with him and set it up in his "museum." It's beautiful, yet strangely familiar. It appears what they did in Russia was a little more than a simple mining operation.

I'm sorry Hermod. I realize that you do not wish to believe this, but the "ghost in the machine" is your father. He tells you not to "let Vindhlér obtain the spear." Vindhlér is Norse for "wind shelter." It is also a nickname for the god who can hear the grass grow, and see the end of the world: Heimdall. That makes his statement that you are in the abode of the enemy make sense. If the company that you work for is, as I believe, the Vindhlér that your father warned you about, then it would seem that you have already failed. That doesn't mean that you can't fix your failure, though.

On a related but less detailed note, a Google search of the poem emailed to you lead me to the complete "Canterbury Tales." I'm not sure if this is relavant, but the first stanza mentions Zephirus. Your father mentions Zephyr. Both are names for the god of the west wind.

I would be glad to help you in any way I can. You can contact me at burtonlang@gmail.com, or through my AIM burtonlang.
