The comments on my last post are very troubling.

Apparently the Eyes of Woden are spying on me. Or are they? Is this just some clever prank? I can't tell. But either way, someone is violating my rights to privacy and I don't like it.

I think I'm going to stay in a motel or something. It's late, this is creepy, and I don't feel very comfortable right now. I need sleep and there's no way in hell I'm sleeping here.

Now more than ever, though, I'd really like to get in touch with the owner of this site. You seem to know what's going on, so would you mind helping me out? Or is this all your sick joke? I have no idea what is going on and I don't even know what I've gotten myself into. I kind of don't even want to do this anymore. I don't know who to trust.

I thought I'd try to bring a more personal flavour to this blog, so here goes.

I quit my job at the New York Public Library last month and have been sending out resumes and attending interviews ever since. None of the positions really appealed to me, and most of the time I didn't get a call back for any of them, so I had all but given up hope. Then, yesterday, I got an odd phone call. An executive at Heimdall Industries was apparently given my resume by a friend of his, thought I had potential, and wanted to meet with me. I accepted and went in yesterday. The interview went extremely well so I'm hoping for a call back soon. It pays well too, so I won't have to worry about nearly missing my rent anymore.

Aside from that, I had a nice chat with someone named Esteed the other night. We discussed the quote I posted about on Tuesday, what it could mean, and the possibility that Woden's influence stretches into our own world. He told me about a very interesting group called the Eyes of Woden. I checked out their website yesterday and was intrigued. It's a shame their membership requirements are so strict, but then again it appears to be some sort of secret society so that shouldn't be a surprise.

Another thing that's intrigued me is this site that appears to have some sort of connection to all this. I was unaware that anyone else knew about Dr. Ragnarsson's report. If whoever runs that site reads this, I'd very much like to get in touch with you.

Last time I mentioned the theft of the Tanais Apparatus.

According to Dr. Ragnarsson's notes, his relationship with my father was strained for a while. Before they started working together, Ragnarsson asked my father to swear that he would never tell anyone about the work he was doing. My father did so, and they informally became teacher and student. However, this changed when Ragnarsson was visited by two strange men.

He describes them as your typical Men in Black; black suits, white collared shirts and black ties. They asked if they could inspect his office, with no reason given other than that they were ordered to. When he asked which agency they belonged to, they simply smiled and changed the subject. They casually shoved him aside and proceeded to tear everything apart, despite his objections. When they found the locker in which he kept the Tanais Apparatus and the notes relating to it, he tried to force them away, but he was knocked out. When he came to, the Appartus was gone and so were the two men.

At first he thought my father had something to do with it. Father tried to convince him that he didn't, but Ragnarsson refused to speak with him. This went on for several months, but ended when Ragnarsson found a lead. Unfortunately, the entire section on this lead is missing from his notes, which is a shame because it is what I'm most interested in finding out. The following is the only information relating to it that I have to go on:

"In light, Truth.
In death, Life.
The Balance will be shifted."

This is where I need your help. Can anyone tell me what this means? I've done my best to figure it out, but my efforts have been fruitless. If you have any information, please comment here or feel free to chat with me on AIM sometime. My screenname is hermodtimeless.

Thank you.

I hope you can forgive me for my long absence. I intend to update this blog more frequently, and right now I will do my best to continue from where I left off. I last posted about Dr. Ragnarsson's alleged journey into Fjórheim and the historical information he transcribed whilst staying there. There is simply too much information for me to tell you about, so I will post only what I considered to be the most important fragments.

From what I could gather, the world was united under a stable government until a revolutionary named Woden allied himself with an otherworldly force that brought great ruin. This force allowed him to set up his own world-wide dictatorship, which was still in power when Dr. Ragnarsson visited there. What was once a peaceful and ancient land swiftly became both industrialized and militarized, and high technology reigned.

All seemed to be going well for Woden, for the swords and arrows of the resistance were no match for his otherworldly weapons. However, unbeknownst to him, the resistance were fashioning their own. It took several years, but eventually they caught up with Woden's forces technologically. This allowed the war to be fought on even ground, and many territories were reclaimed. A "revolutionary government" was set up, along with its very own military, and there was finally hope in the peoples' hearts.

The war was far from over, however. Everything from dissension in the ranks to the formation of splinter groups who wanted to do things differently slowed everything down considerably. By the time Dr. Ragnarsson returned to our world, the two sides had reached a stalemate and there was no end in sight.

His notes from there on were mainly speculation. Would it be Woden? Would it be the revolutionaries? Would the splinter groups do something foolish and wipe out both sides? It was clear that he was desperate to find out what would happen next, so he planned another trip. That never happened, though. It wasn't because of his death, either; the Tanais Apparatus was stolen.
